81 years’ old Mdm Teo is the proud mother of 3 grown up children and 8 grandchildren. Born into a traditional Taoist family, she and her husband, Mr Ong had been worshipping traditional Taoist idols until their conversion in April 2018. Although all her children and grandchildren are Christians, it seemed to be an uphill and almost impossible task for them to accept Christ until God’s intervention in 2018. Through God’s grace and mercy, both were baptised on 21 April, 2019 (Easter Day) in Church of The True Light.
Mdm Teo had gone through quite a few major illnesses for the past 10 years. She had a heart pacer implanted about 8 years ago when it was discovered that her heart was not functioning well. Then in June 2018, after experiencing severe stomach pain, an MRI scan detected an ulcer in her stomach as well as stones in her gall bladder. This condition caused her much pain and discomfort and for a very long time, Mdm Teo was not able to have a good nights’ sleep.
What had drawn Puay Han and Sally to the Church of The True Light is the strong presence of the Holy Spirit there and Pastor Winston’s gift of toggling between Mandarin and English when he shares the Gospel. It feels like home and they wanted their parents to be part of it and have been praying for the right time to invite them to the church.

Mdm Teo’s son, Puay Han and her daughter-in-law Sally, have been attending the Friday evening Mandarin Healing Prayer at Church of The True Light since July 2018. What had drawn Puay Han and Sally to the Church of The True Light is the strong presence of the Holy Spirit there and Pastor Winston’s gift of toggling between Mandarin and English when he shares the Gospel. It feels like home and they wanted their parents to be part of it and have been praying for the right time to invite them to the church.
That night, Mdm Teo experienced the healing touch of God. The pain was gone from that night onwards and she was able to sleep well at night.
Mdm Tan Ah Lek
In early Jan 2019, on a Friday morning, close to Chinese New Year, Puay Han and Sally visited their parents with the intention of inviting them to attend the Mandarin Healing Prayer service that evening. To their surprise, without hesitation, Mdm Teo and Mr Ong readily agreed. What enfolds that evening is the true work of God. On that fateful evening, Pastor Winston was preaching on the difference between religion and relationship and how Christianity is about relationship and not religion. Towards the end of the worship service, Pastor Winston asked worshippers who are seeking healing to come to the altar. Again to their surprise, without hesitation, Mdm Teo went forward. That was her first step of faith. That night, Mdm Teo experienced the healing touch of God. The pain was gone from that night onwards and she was able to sleep well at night.
Her son and daughter-in-law were not aware of God’s healing touch until Mdm Teo told them the following week that God had answered her prayers. She had not experienced any pain from the gall stones for a week. The miraculous healing, through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, continued for about 3 months. Our family members witnessed the gradual transformation in Mdm Teo as she became more at peace as she knows that she now has a God in whom she can rely on.
God continues to protect Mdm Teo … fast forward 3 months, sometime in June 2019, Mdm Teo and Mr Ong went for their morning walk and suddenly she broke out in cold sweat and fainted on the road. Mr Ong was flabbergasted and for a moment he was not sure what to do. There must be an angel protecting Mdm Teo as her neighbour, a big sized middle aged man happened to be close by. He saw what happened and sprang into action and carried Mdm Teo to his car and brought her home. Mdm Teo’s family doctor made a house call that afternoon and luckily there was nothing serious.
Mdm Teo and her husband continues to worship at Church of the True Light every Friday evening. She would always raise her hands, go to the front of the altar and asked God for healing. Most of the time, she would be slain by the Holy Spirit.
“I am not sure what happened, but the white patch (ulcer) is no longer there” explained the Doctor, “we do not need to operate any more, your ulcer has healed”. Spontaneously, Mdm Teo said in Mandarin “Thank you God!”

In July 2019, Mdm Teo, accompanied by Puay Han, went to the hospital to review her MRI results. As they entered the doctor’s room, there was a sense of suspension and anxiety as they waited for the doctor to explain the MRI results. “Mdm Teo, you see this MRI scan done last year and now you see the MRI scan done last month?” The doctor tried to explain in his broken Mandarin to Mdm Teo. “I am not sure what happened, but the white patch (ulcer) is no longer there” explained the Doctor, “we do not need to operate any more, your ulcer has healed”. Spontaneously, Mdm Teo said in Mandarin “Thank you God!”
In Dec 2019, Mdm successfully removed her gall stones. She is now happy and well and both she and her husband continue to faithfully attend the Friday prayer meeting and Sunday service at Church of the True Light.
